A grandmother and her 12 yr old grandson have been living in a motel for the past 7 years, following the passing of the grandfather. They took guardianship of their grandson when he was 4 years old due to his parents substance abuse. The grandmother has been working really hard to better their living situation and after all these years they are moving into their own apartment either today or beginning of next week. Her caseworker reached out to us to see if our network would be able to help them with moving their belongings from a storage unit to their apartment. As well as help with obtaining a twin bed and bedding for the grandson (his favorite color is blue and he loves soccer). She is also in need of a bed and bedding. In the words of the caseworker: "It would mean so much for this family to have access to new beds and sheets. I want to highlight how huge of a shift this is because they have shared a small space with limited privacy. He will now have a room to call his own. While this is mind blowing independently - I couldn't image how meaningful it would be for him to see his own bed with his favorite color sheets"

Car seat needed for one year old child that is being reunited with bio family. Child has been in foster care and we are in the process of returning the child to the parent. A trial discharge has already started and we are looking to do a final discharge within the next few months.

A relative has stepped up to become a foster parent to care for a medically fragile child. The baby is doing well but requires alot of medical care and appointments. She has done a wonderful job caring for the baby and we would like to support her in anyway that we can.
At first the baby could not walk do to her condition but she is now becoming mobile. She needs a baby walker-the kind with the hole in the middle with wheels and a baby gate like thing to contain her in the center of the living room so can move but not get into anything that may harm her. Mother just moved into a home with her daughter after they have been apart for some time. She currently is struggling with her finances and trying to get back on track with her budget. She is working with her team to become stable.

Caregiver with two children under the age of 10 has recently moved into a new apartment in the Bronx. Caregiver is on a very fixed income, mostly receiving public assistance and has been out of work for sometime now due to her ongoing mental health challenges. She needs support with some furniture items for her household in order for her children to thrive and live more comfortably. The caregiver requested a linen closet and closet organizers, however I do not see that on the list of items, but I wanted to notate that here. She would appreciate any help at all.

We had a family of 10 come to us about 2 weeks ago. They had moved here from Arizona with housing lined out and a job. Unfortunatley the housing fell through 2 hours before they got to Oklahoma. They were forced to use the funds they had to live in a hotel. When that money ran out they came to us and we were able to put them up for 2 weeks. During that 2 weeks the father started working and has found a 5 bedroom home locally but doesn't have the full amount for the deposit. They can move in as early as today but are missing that 1200.00. Thank you in advance for your faithfulness!

Two grandparents have been caring for their granddaughter for the last 5 years. Recently grandpa has been struggling with his health. He has been in the hospital for an extended period of time and will require additional time in a skilled nursing facility. He has been unable to work and now grandma, who is not working, is having to figure out how to pay their bills. We are hoping to gather some grocery gift cards to alleviate some of the financial burden they are facing. Grocery stores near them are Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Raley's and Walmart.

The number of youth in CWOP have increased and DFPS has requested assistance with building Busy Boxes for the youth staying in local hotels.

Her car was recently repossessed, and she has received an eviction notice for her apartment.

The stress has also impacted her children’s education, as transportation issues have led to school tardiness, putting their charter school enrollment at risk.

Meeting this $3,000 need will help her recover her vehicle and stabilize her housing situation. It will provide her the ability to continue working, transport her children to school and medical appointments, and keep her family together in their home.
