Hello! I Am Next is a nonprofit that works with youth who have aged out of foster care. We bought our first apartment complex a couple months ago thanks to a large grant we received to house these youth in their own studio apartments to give them a sense of independence. We host a lot of events out of our conference room at this complex. Recently, it has been made aware to me that we are in need of a printer for these youth to use for job related things, school stuff, documents, etc. We were hoping someone could either donate to us a gently used printer or purchase one for our community of youth to use to help further them in their next decisions in life. Youth is 19-year old male participating in the Foster Youth in Transition Program. He is currently experiencing food insecurity and financial hardships currently. When the caseworker visited youth on April 17th youth did not have anything in his refrigerator besides condiments and did not have nutritional meals. Youth is in the process of finding a different job so money for nutritional meals have been a barrier. He only receives $23 for food stamps.

15 year old female just got out of a residential facility and is currently in a foster home. She is wanting to reconnect with her family and friends. There are concerns with her having access to a regular cellphone due to sex trafficking; however, we do not want to punish her for things that occurred to her. A BARK phone would help this child be able to reintegrate herself into her community while having appropriate restrictions and boundaries. Phones are a lifeline for teenagers right now and we feel it is important that she be able to have access to this device while also keeping her safe. We are requesting the BARK phone as well as a payment for an additional month so that this child will have time to save and earn money in the meantime to start paying for the phone.

The parents on this case are working diligently toward the reunification of their infant son. When the case initially opened, the parents were facing significant challenges regarding their own developmental needs and mental health. The parents have been able to successfully maintain their own apartment, which is a vital step in providing a safe and stable home for their infant. However, despite them having a home, they struggle remarkably with maintaining a clean and sanitary home. The parents have been working with their local housing agency to clean and maintain the premises; however, this is a consistent and ongoing concern. The family requires a cleaning care package that could consist of all items necessary to maintain a sanitary living environment: broom, mop, sponges, cleaning wipes, rags, reusable gloves, toilet brush, duster, sprays and cleaners. This assistance would be critical in helping them solidify their housing situation and ensure that they have a stable home environment ready for their infant’s return. Assistance with cleaning items that they are struggling to cover at this time would significantly support them in taking steps to reunify with their infant and establish a permanent home for them.

We had a family of 10 come to us about 2 weeks ago. They had moved here from Arizona with housing lined out and a job. Unfortunatley the housing fell through 2 hours before they got to Oklahoma. They were forced to use the funds they had to live in a hotel. When that money ran out they came to us and we were able to put them up for 2 weeks. During that 2 weeks the father started working and has found a 5 bedroom home locally but doesn't have the full amount for the deposit. They can move in as early as today but are missing that 1200.00. Thank you in advance for your faithfulness!

Two grandparents have been caring for their granddaughter for the last 5 years. Recently grandpa has been struggling with his health. He has been in the hospital for an extended period of time and will require additional time in a skilled nursing facility. He has been unable to work and now grandma, who is not working, is having to figure out how to pay their bills. We are hoping to gather some grocery gift cards to alleviate some of the financial burden they are facing. Grocery stores near them are Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Raley's and Walmart.

The number of youth in CWOP have increased and DFPS has requested assistance with building Busy Boxes for the youth staying in local hotels.

A single mother of three young children (ages 10, 6, and 4) is in urgent need of support. She has been diagnosed with cancer and has undergone multiple surgeries, which caused her to miss numerous days of work. As a result, she has fallen behind financially. Her car was recently repossessed, and she has received an eviction notice for her apartment.

Although she works full-time and receives state assistance for food and medical coverage, she is unable to catch up on her rent and car payments. The stress has also impacted her children’s education, as transportation issues have led to school tardiness, putting their charter school enrollment at risk.

Meeting this $3,000 need will help her recover her vehicle and stabilize her housing situation. It will provide her the ability to continue working, transport her children to school and medical appointments, and keep her family together in their home. Your support will bring much-needed relief and hope to a family in crisis.

Despite these challenges, she has been actively applying for jobs and is determined to get back on her feet. Currently, she is behind on her car payment and in need of assistance with groceries.
