A single mother just recently got an apartment after leaving a domestic violence situation. Mother has put in a lot of effort to utilize low income housing to obtain a new apartment and is now asking for help getting a set of bunk beds, in good used condition is okay, she is also asking for assistance in delivery and set up of the frame. Mother is also seeking twin size mattresses for the bunk bed set along with bedding for those two beds. She also has a two year old daughter in a toddler bed, the bed has been provided but she is seeking help getting bedding for her daughters toddler bed.

This request is on behalf of a young single mother of two active boys, ages 6 months and 5 years. Despite living with a disability, this mother has shown remarkable progress in learning and applying parenting skills. Her dedication to her children and willingness to grow have led to significant improvements in their home environment. She is currently in need of a highchair for her infant son, which will greatly support his development by allowing him to safely participate in family mealtimes and practice independent feeding. Meeting this need will not only enhance daily routines and bonding experiences but also reinforce the positive steps this mother has already taken in her parenting journey.

Mother is a single parent after recently losing her losing her husband. She has two children, one 6th grader and one freshman. Mom is not currently working full time, and her freshman daughter is working on getting a job. The children have worn mattresses with holes and needing new mattresses. The family did not bring this to the attention of the case team nor complain. Bedding was being washed at the time of the worker's visit and observed by worker. When the possibility of new mattresses was addressed with the family, they appeared to light up at the possibility and expressed their appreciation for any help.

The mother had been homeless when the child came into foster care. She had been able to find a job at Circle K and a man that she met had offered to transport her to visitation and to her classes as well as when she was reunified to move into the trailer on his property. When he was unable to, she would ride her bike over 10-15 miles to go to her appointments and visitations to see her child twice a week. She had finished all of her services and was reunified with the child on 1/2/25. He is currently the safety monitor for the mother and child. The landlord told the mother that he is planning on moving out and selling his home. He is allowing the mother to keep the trailer but it would need to be off of the property. Mother was told that it would cost $1,000 to get the trailer moved off of the property and she does not have the money at this time because she is putting most of her paycheck towards taking care of her child and paying for the trailer because the landlord offered the trailer to her if she could pay it off.

A single mother recently relocated to King George County. She was able to establish housing but is in need of additional support as she the only provider for her children. She is in need of beds, mattresses and bedding for her four children. Their ages range from eight to eleven months old.

Boy One: 8-year-old, he likes Avengers, his favorite color is blue, a twin bed would be fine. Boy Two: 6-year-old, he likes Avengers, his favorite color is blue, a twin bed would be fine. Boy Three: 3-year-old, he likes Spiderman, his favorite color is blue, a twin bed would be fine. Boy Four: 11 months old, he likes Coco Melon, and he will need a toddler bed.

An organization that we partner with shared a need with us for a family they are working with. Mother recently loss her mom and has a lot of Mental health issues. She recently got custody of her children back and is trying to really hard to be a good mother, there are other two children in the house. They are in need of a Twin bed, a Queen bed and a vacuum cleaner. Please let me know if you have any of these items to help this family or if you are able to purchase them!

A counselor at a local high school shared a need for a local family. The family was displaced, and did seek a motel voucher from the district. Thankfully they're back in an apartment, but the mom shared they're in need of a stove.The oldest a senior at the high school and there are two younger brothers. The family is requesting help in getting a gas stove.

Family is in need of two twin sized mattresses, the bed frames and bedding have been secured.

One of our members has a washer and dryer to donate. A newly arrived refugee family with a disabled child is in great need of these donated units. We are looking for help from our church to pick up and deliver the washer and dryer. A pick up truck is needed, also volunteers to load, unload and install.

I met a young single mom, yesterday who is facing homelessness. She and her 12 year old daughter currently live in an apartment with her mother and are being evicted on Sunday evening. The grandmother has a place to go but this mom and her 12 year old do not. She is on a list to move in to housing in 4-7 days. She hopes to get a job in the Ruckersville area within walking distance of Food Lion.
GRACE can likely help her with first months rent when she gets in, but cannot help her with both first months rent and a hotel stay until the apartment becomes available. We are seeking nights at a hotel or an available room where she and her daughter can stay until getting the apartment. Please reach out if you can help with this. If different churches pay each church needs to make a different reservation which would be difficult. Current rate is around $140 a night. Let me know how many nights you could cover for her and I will start a reservation with that many nights and ask that you either send funds through GRACE or stop in the hotel and pay cash towards the reservation.
