A local mother passed away recently, and friends have taken in 4 of the seven children in the family. They are aged 6 months to 10 years old. There are many needs! The Biological dad is working to be able to have his children back in the home. In the meantime, the families are really struggling.
The young baby needs Formula—Similac Sensitive. The family has not yet been approved for any help for the children. This family already has several kids of its own and needs assistance with diapers. The older kids need clothing and a few other things. One of the older girls needs clothing in size 7/8 and size 13 kids' shoes. They also need size 5/6 pajamas and twin bed sheets.

A mother and 16 year old son are in great need of assistance getting a hotel for a few days and some food. They are currently camping in the woods due to being homeless and awaiting expected funds. They are without supports and do not meet criteria for shelter. Assisting this family will ensure safety and wellbeing for the child.

Struggling single mother of two daughters ages 2 and 12 years. Is seeking assistance with clothes for her children as well as herself. Mom and oldest daughter whom she adopted when she was a baby are both dealing with mental health challenges. Mom left her job in order to focus on her oldest daughter who has been showing concerning behaviors. When mom spoke to oldest about her behavior daughter expressed that she was being bullied in school because of how she dresses. Mom informed me that without the income from her job she is unable to buy them clothes and accepts a lot of hand-me-downs. Mom is not asking for name brand, expensive clothes she would just like clothes that they can fit and feel proud wearing. Mom is also asking for a stroller for toddler. After surviving abuse and escaping her trafficker, this survivor has a chance to start a new life. Nine years ago, she became homeless after losing her job and being evicted with her young son. With nowhere stable to go, she sent her son to stay with a friend temporarily. During this vulnerable time, she fell into the hands of a trafficker. That same friend later convinced her to sign over guardianship of her child, which became permanent. After suffering a brutal assault at the hands of her trafficker, she was determined to break away and rebuild her life. Despite her securing employment, the cost of child support and housing costs, made reuniting with her son difficult. She entered the Orange County Rescue Mission, completed court-ordered therapy, parenting classes, and drug testing, earned her GED, and enrolled in college, all while fighting for custody for her son. Today, she has been approved for Section 8 housing and finally secured a safe, stable apartment. However, before she can move in, she needs a few essential items: a refrigerator and a mattress. With your support, we can help provide these basics, and with them, restore hope, dignity, and the foundation for a fresh start.
