This is a family of 7 (a mother, three teenagers ranging from 14 to 17, a twelve-year-old, and two toddlers). The toddlers, who are also the mother's grandchildren, were recently added to the family because the biological parents could no longer care for them due to incarceration. The twelve-year-old, who was recently released from the hospital after a stay of several weeks, was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. She is now on a very restricted diet which has significantly impacted the family's overall grocery expenses. The mother is unemployed at the moment, and although she does receive some assistance, she is having a difficult time providing for all of the children's essential needs.
