There's a mother who has a child with disabilities living in a home in NE Oklahoma. She has her parental rights fully intact and is able to have him stay with her overnight once a month. While OKDHS CW has been able to assist her sometimes, this weekend unfortunately we’re unable to provide transportation. She’s willing and able to pick him up herself but would need some support with gas for the round trip of about 180 miles. Additionally, she’s asking if there could be some extra funds available for food and a haircut, she’s happy to take him to a shop herself. This is an urgent situation since their visit is scheduled for this weekend, and we really want to help her make this Easter special for her son. Please consider helping this mother spend meaningful time with her son this holiday weekend.

We have a grandmother who is caring for her 2 grandbabies and is in need of a few items. The grandmother is in need of a Chester drawer to store the babies clothing. Also the children are in need of pullups (2t), diapers size 3, and wipes. Any help given to the grandmother for her grandkids would be greatly appreciated.

I am working with a family with one child in foster care. The mother is preparing to begin a Trial Home Placement with her child, and is in need of household supplies to ensure the home is babyproofed and ready for her little one. She is in need of a baby gate, babyproof locks (for cabinets, doors, etc.), and outlet/electrical socket covers.

We had a family of 10 come to us about 2 weeks ago. They had moved here from Arizona with housing lined out and a job. Unfortunatley the housing fell through 2 hours before they got to Oklahoma. They were forced to use the funds they had to live in a hotel. When that money ran out they came to us and we were able to put them up for 2 weeks. During that 2 weeks the father started working and has found a 5 bedroom home locally but doesn't have the full amount for the deposit. Two grandparents have been caring for their granddaughter for the last 5 years. Recently grandpa has been struggling with his health. He has been in the hospital for an extended period of time and will require additional time in a skilled nursing facility. He has been unable to work and now grandma, who is not working, is having to figure out how to pay their bills. We are hoping to gather some grocery gift cards to alleviate some of the financial burden they are facing. Grocery stores near them are Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Raley's and Walmart.

The number of youth in CWOP have increased and DFPS has requested assistance with building Busy Boxes for the youth staying in local hotels.
