I have a family of a lower elementary student who currently does not have access to a car which is preventing the student from being able to attend school. This family is in need of uber gift cards or another form of transportation to provide for transportation to and from school.

We are reaching out to request your assistance for a family we are supporting. A mother and her daughters are facing difficult circumstances, including the loss of two parents and the removal of one child from the home. Due to these significant life events, the mother has been unable to work and is now behind on several payments.

DCCCA has done what we can to help and has explored community resources, but unfortunately, we have not found any viable solutions. The mother is seeking assistance to cover half of her rent. Additionally, DCCCA has already helped by paying the electricity bill, which was disconnected this morning.

We understand that the amount needed is substantial, and we are hopeful that multiple churches can come together to support this family. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. We sincerely hope you can help us keep this family together and prevent eviction and further distress.

Requesting a bed or bed room set (dresser and bed) for male youth who will be aging out of care on April 30, 2025. The male has been in foster care for 5+ years and is in need of a Full/or Queen size bed set and full/queen mattress to accommodate his height and weight. The male is 6"2 and 230 pounds. The male asked for what he wishes to have for his 21st birthday that will occur the 28th of April and a fresh start with a bedroom set was his humble request. Youth has 2 standard pillow cases , 1 sheet set and comforter. Any bedding donations for a Full or queen size bedding is appreciated. The youth loves the colors blue and purple. If delivery is not an option , Case Manager will make arrangements for the items to be picked up.

Single mother requesting help with electric bill.

A family of 3 is in need of pest control services in the house they recently moved into. A single mom of two young student is fighting the battle of bed bugs and roaches after moving into a new home after living in a motel long-term. The family is experiencing financial hardship after costs associated with moving and utility deposits, they are not able to afford these services on their own. We are asking for the costs of these services to be covered to improve the wellbeing of the students' home life and to keep the bugs from spreading to other students within the school. A local pest control company went out and quoted the following: Bed Bugs Services (Initial) $380 Bed Bug Services (Second Treatment) $190 Roaches $50 each treatment (2 needed) to bed bug service $670 total for all 4 services

We have received $350 towards this request.

Volunteer Opportunity: Help Deliver Groceries to Pickerington Seniors and Residents with Disabilities

The Pickerington Area Resource Coalition seeks 9 dedicated volunteers to assist with monthly grocery deliveries for seniors and individuals with disabilities in the Pickerington community.

Our next delivery date is Thursday, May 1. Volunteers will pick up pre-packed grocery bags at Kroger (7833 Refugee Rd.) between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and deliver them to recipients' homes within Pickerington.

All names and addresses will be provided in advance. This is a recurring opportunity, taking place once a month.

An expectant mother is in need of basic items for a newborn due later this month April. The mother's community health coach requested a pack-n-play (bassinet), infant car seat, diapers, wipes. These items will allow the child safe transport and a safe sleeping environment. The diapers and wipes will supply the baby's needs for a few weeks. We still need funds for the CARSEAT and DIAPERS. A single mom recently moved from the shelter into her own apartment with her daughter with special needs. Her daughter is blind, autistic and has other complications from Optic Nerve hypoplasia. Mom states that she works but with her rent being $900 a month it has left her unable to provide a few necessary items. The home does not have a working a/c and high heat places the young child at risk of a stroke. A window unit could help provide comfort and wellbeing for the child. The home could use a few items including couch cover up as well as girls clothes size 10-12. Mom also stated that her daughter’s favorite item is an electric keyboard piano but she accidentally bumped into it and it broke. She has not been able to afford to buy a new or used one. A used one that someone could donate would be great! Any help with these few items would be greatly appreciated and significantly improve the life of a mom and child who have been through a lot.

We had a family of 10 come to us about 2 weeks ago. They had moved here from Arizona with housing lined out and a job. Unfortunatley the housing fell through 2 hours before they got to Oklahoma. They were forced to use the funds they had to live in a hotel. When that money ran out they came to us and we were able to put them up for 2 weeks. During that 2 weeks the father started working and has found a 5 bedroom home locally but doesn't have the full amount for the deposit. They can move in as early as today but are missing that 1200.00. Thank you in advance for your faithfulness!
