A first time mother is in need of some items for her baby girl. The baby was born premature and is not fitting into the clothing that mother had bought for her. Unfortunately, mother has been unable to afford supplies due to not working at this time. She would benefit from assistance with baby clothing until her daughter is able to fit in the clothing that she has already purchased. This will help mother in caring for her new child and reduce some stress associated with this need. The request is for newborn clothing as well as preemie clothing. Additionally, mother may need additional assistance with newborn diapers, wipes, and baby hygiene items/baby soap. Mother is currently seeking out resources to obtain these items, but in the meantime she has a need for these as well. Additionally, mother is in need of a car seat, due to learning that the one she has, is expiring, but she has been referred to Akron Children's to meet this need.

4 children (ages 1, 4, 6 & 8) and 2 adults are currently living in a hotel room with one one king size bed. The youngest child is sleeping in a Pack & Play. DCS is requesting bunk beds for the children so that they will fit in the motel room and the family can keep them once they are accepted into JC Housing. At that time, DCS can assist the family with locating additional beds and furniture. The father works, but does not have much leftover for additional items after paying the motel and other bills. DCS would also like to request a broom and basic cleaning supplies for the family.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, I received a call from a grandparent requesting two full size mattresses set and one queen size mattress set. The grandparent reported that she and her two grandsons have moved from a one-bedroom apartment into a three bedroom. Presently, the boys are sleeping together on her old queen set, and she is sleeping on the sofa.

If the family receive bedding, they would be fortunate and grateful to be able to have adequate rest and sleep, especially grandmom. She has health issues and has been sleeping on the sofa and the boys sleeping on her old broken mattress set that’s on the floor.

The family home has a serious lice infestation. They treat their hair but, the lice return in a few days. The home is dirty, and I do not believe the parents will be able to remedy the issue alone. The lice cause the children to miss school and a regular basis, and it is affecting their education.

A resilient family of five in our community has just secured housing after being evicted. They spent time in a hotel while searching, and now, with great determination and strength, they’ve found a new place to call home. The father is working hard to support his family, but with high rent and the cost of living, they’re facing the heavy burden of starting over with very little. They’re in need of essential furnishings to help make this space a true home. Specifically, they need 3 beds (a bunk bed would be wonderful), a couch, and basic kitchen supplies. We hope to ease their transition and give them the chance to focus on settling in—without having to use their limited income on furniture. This family has already overcome so much. Family is being reunited and has a new home. Working on gathering things to make it feel more like a home and help them get back on their feet. Starting with the beds. I have a full size bed for mom, but looking for twin size beds for each of the two boys. Mom has asked for pillows and I would love to find them bedding as well. Boys are into Pokemon and Sonic the Hedgehog but anything blue would work.

A single mother who is the full-time caregiver for her disabled daughter is struggling to pay her rent after her monthly payment went up. She has starting driving for DoorDash and is looking for other ways to earn income while caring for her child, but she has gotten behind. She needs $262 by May2nd to avoid eviction. Please consider helping this family.

Our church is working together with a family who was recently homeless and is getting back on their feet. For years they have been deeply invested in serving our community. The mother has been a constant source of support, providing food and childcare assistance to local churches, always giving selflessly to others.

We are asking for support to help this family thrive with groceries, summer clothes and shoes for the children, toiletries, laundry detergent, and a gas card. Please consider supporting this family.

This request supports a family of 5, including multiple children and a mother who recently delivered a baby via emergency C-section. Due to complications during delivery (e.g., including significant blood loss), the mother faces an extended recovery period. Without paid family leave, this has created financial strain on the household, leaving them approximately two months behind on rent.

This family would be grateful for alternative forms of support so they can redirect their limited funds toward housing.
