The client is eight months pregnant and has a family of four, including her husband, two-year-old son, and four-year-old daughter. The family is in immediate need of housing and has been unable to qualify for multiple emergency shelter programs. The client is unemployed, while her husband works part-time and is actively seeking another job because his income is not enough to meet their basic needs.
The client does not have any baby items and receives diapers from our Earn While You Learn program when possible. She does not have a phone and relies on the family’s only car, which her husband uses for work. I am assisting the client with her housing search, though emergency shelter programs have presented many barriers to access. This client and her family are Spanish-speaking only.
The client would greatly benefit from newborn baby items, groceries, and gas. She is specifically in need of:
Newborn clothes for a baby boy ($35 sizes 0-3 months)
Diapers and wipes ($85 for various sizes)
A newborn car seat ($140)
A baby bath set including baby wash, shampoo, and lotion ($13)
Diaper rash cream ($7)
A gas card ($100)
A Walmart gift card for groceries ($75)
Supporting this family in meeting these immediate needs will provide them with critical relief while they continue to search for stable housing.
