A mother has been unable to work recently due to the poor weather (she primarily works outdoors), and is in need of assistance in getting a phone card. This will help her communicate with team members and coordinate services.

This home typically provides care and placement for teen moms and/or pregnant teens. One of the pregnant teens in this home had a younger sibling needing placement and this home was willing to provide that. Per DCF regulations the infant needs to have an infant crib to sleep and the home currently only has a bassinet and pack and play provided for sleeping arrangements. The surveyor came out this morning and stated the crib must be available within five days to meet licensing regulations. An Infant Crib and Crib Mattress would greatly benefit this family. The Department is requesting a specific bed that will grow with the child and provides safety. Ever since the child was placed with the caregiver, her doctors and the resource parent have noticed that she had difficulties that were physical, developmental, mental, and emotional, which is why she was placed into medical case management. The child has been in occupational therapy since she was about 4 months old, and physical therapy since she was about 9 months old. She was recently diagnosed with higher level of needs. While her challenges are not the worst out there, she does have a multitude of difficulties that make her day to day life challenging. The child is currently in a crib, but she is outgrowing it and wanting to climb in and out of it, which is unsafe. Because of her diagnosis, she has very limited impulse control, so even though she knows climbing in and out of the bed is unsafe, she still tries to do it. This bed will grow with her, offer a safe sleep space, and the rail will keep her from falling out at night.

We have a single mother with five children in her care. The mother's 3-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son with autism are enrolled in summer camp activities; however, the mother lacks the financial resources to pay the fees for her children to participate in the summer camp activities. The mother is proactively working toward financial self-sufficiency through taking classes to earn her GED and searching for gainful employment with interviews scheduled; however, due to unexpected financial burdens, the mother is lacking the funds to cover the cost of camp for her two younger children. The caseworker can meet the donor at a time and location convenient for him/her to collect a gift card or cash, after which point the caseworker will directly pay the provider for the cost of camp.

One of our partners has a mom who is expecting a baby on 7/9/25 who is in need of the following items. Mom is currently struggling financially and lacks family and friends’ support. A single mother had to leave her job due to that organization losing funding and her hours being cut down. The single mother is now working a cleaning business and is a full time student as well to further her education. She hurt her back a couple months ago so she is struggling to work her hours. She currently has 3 of her daughters who are in high school and 3 toddlers/newborns in her house including herself. She is selling some lotion on the side to try to make ends meet. Anything can help.

An elderly woman with serious health conditions in our community is in need of a working electric stove/oven for her home. This can be an older or used appliance as long as it is in good condition and that it works.

A single mother is facing financial hardship and has fallen behind on her rent. She has an 11-year-old son and is striving to get back on track. Her monthly rent is $1,570.00, and she was able to pay $500.00 for May; however, she has incurred late fees totaling $230.00 and is struggling to cover the remaining $1,300.00 that was due for May. As June is now here, she has fallen short again and is seeking assistance to stabilize her housing situation.
