Story
An upper elementary student in our school has just been diagnosed with liver cancer. He is currently in the hospital and receiving treatment. His situation is dire because they are finding additional masses in his other organs. He has 3 other siblings, including a twin, who attend our school. His mother does not have a car and is having to split her time between the child in the hospital and the children at home. She is spending hours on public transport and is having to take additional time off work. The loss of income is making it difficult for the mother to pay for groceries and keep up to date on her bills. Staff from the school are walking the other students to and from school each day to ensure their attendance. The family could use support in providing transportation to the hospital in the form of Uber or Lyft gift cards or support with groceries. They would be willing to have groceries dropped to them or even gift cards for a grocery store.
