Story
The client is a 46-year-old grandmother who has taken on the responsibility of raising her 6-year-old granddaughter. She stepped in to care for the child because her daughter is unable to do so. The client works outside the home and was able to identify a summer camp for her granddaughter. When the child was placed in her care, she arrived with little to no belongings, not even a toy to call her own. The client is struggling to pay her bills and rent on a minimum wage income. To meet her granddaughter’s basic needs, the client has been relying on food pantries and local community agencies. She is currently seeking assistance with clothing and bedding for the child. The client is open to receiving gently used items in the following sizes: Girl clothing—youth size 12; shoes—youth size 1.5.
Any support offered to this family would go a long way in helping provide stability and comfort for this young girl.
