Story
A mother of two — a 4-year-old and a 7-month old daughters — has worked tirelessly to create a safe and nurturing environment for her children. Two months ago, she made the difficult decision to dispose of her toddler’s bed due to a bed bug issue in their apartment. In the time since, her 4-year-old daughter has been sharing a bed with her as she took every necessary step to ensure their home was free of any bugs.
Now, with the issue fully resolved and as she prepares to move into a new apartment, this mom is doing all she can to give her daughter a fresh start — one that includes a safe, comfortable place to sleep of her own. A twin-size bed would not only meet their immediate need but would also provide a long-term solution her daughter can grow into for years to come.
In addition to caring for her two young children, this mother is also the primary caregiver for her father, who has high medical needs. With so many responsibilities and limited resources, she is currently unable to afford a bed for her daughter on her own.
