Story
A student at Thomas Ewing (Age 14) recently moved in with his cousin (Age 23) and Cousin's fiance in February after CPS had removed him from his grandmother's home. The cousin and fiance took in this student so they would not be placed into foster care. The student has many difficult behaviors that have been an impact both at home and school. The student has ran away from home several times and most recently threatened to kill themself which resulted in the student being placed in a residential facility.
The cousin was working on oil pipelines in West Virginia and making very decent money, however, due to needing time off to attend appointments at the residential facility, he was let go by his employer. The student is scheduled to be released this week from residential. The family is definitely in need of some financial support, mainly grocery gift cards (to help feed a teenage boy) and possibly gas gift cards. This would help the family in the short term while the cousin continues to search for employment. This family is also trying very hard to keep the 14 year old student out of foster care and in Lancaster Schools.
