The maternal grandmother took the two young children in after the mother's mental health has not been managed. The children will be staying with her permanently and she had to move out of the home she had just recently moved into due to it having black mold. One child has autism and there are so many financial changes and needs for this grandmother. She needs a washer and dryer used is fine. She would benefit from a gas card or bill payments help. She could use financial help or anything anyone is willing to help with.

A child has expressed a desire to engage in a cheer camp this summer. This will assist not only the child expand her horizons and interests, but will provide 4 days of day care for the child. The requests also includes a $50 open gym pass where the child can learn and further work on her skills. This will assist in not only developing her skills, but will further connect her with her community and making new friendships.

Child was arrested for stealing socks and pair of underwear from Wal-Mart. She is currently staying with family friends due to mother being homeless and father lives in Texas. Worker has spoke with the family and they are willing to get guardianship for the child. The child is wanting to get back into school and graduate with friends. The family does not have a lot of money to file for guardianship. The cost is $200.00 to file at the court house. The courts have tried to reach out to mom and dad as well as DHS worker. Both parents have not cooperate with DHS.

I am working on a case for a single mother of two children. She is currently attending preventive classes for domestic violence and is making great progress. She is actively seeking employment, but she is having difficulty managing her schedule without a stroller to help transport her one-year-old son and two-month-old daughter. This mother is looking for a new or used double stroller to assist her in safely navigating their daily activities.

Biological mother is working her plan and is currently living in a substance abuse facility. She just moved to this home and still looking for employment to pay the rent to stay there. She is in need of some assistance paying next month's rent and asking for any donation and will be greatly appreciated. She continues to test negative, attend her classes and look for employment, but is needing some assistance.

Biological father has begun working on his ISP and has reliable transportation. He is struggling finding stable housing and employment, but looking everyday for work. He recently had to quit his job and now his phone screen has stopped working and his current phone keeps overheating and not holding a charge. He has a cell service with AT&T and is in need of a phone. He doesn't care about what type of phone or if it is used and not in best condition, he would just like any phone that he can use to receive calls and texts on. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. The $300 request is ball park, but again the phone type does not matter to him.

I am the School Based Social Services worker for a family of three. The caretaker is partially blind and does not have access to transportation. Two of her children attend Epic Schools and are needing help getting to and from their school site for testing. These would be two visits that would require an Uber or taxi service. The family is aware that these services only cover a direct route from their home to the Epic site and back, no deviations are allowed. The amount provided is an estimate, but may be lower than the request. These tests are critical to their educational advancement and missing the dates would hinder their eventual graduation. Your assistance would mean a lot for the family.

We have grandparents on the road to adoption of their grandson. The grandparents are retired and live on a fixed income. The family is not receiving a stipend at this time and will not begin to until after the adoption in 5 months. The family could use some support with a small child’s table and chair and clothing (tops/bottoms: Size 10/12 and shoes size 3 and ½). A foster home is needing a bed for their teenage placement. The teen is currently sleeping in a broken bed frame. Helping this family purchase a bed will allow their foster child to live comfortably and feel at home.

THIS IS A GUTHRIE PUBLIC SCHOOLS REQUEST Local family consists of child and two parents. The family was recently evicted from their apartment and had to find new housing. Their new home is too close to the school to qualify for bus pickup/dropoff, but the walk is difficult--no sidewalks, up hills, and heavy traffic around school time. The student is exhausted after making the walk, causing her to be tired and sore while at school. We are requesting a trolley pass to help the student safely get to/from school and improve her school experience.

A father recently reunified with his three children. He is needing assistance with paying the enrollment fees to get each child enrolled in childcare for the remaining school year and upcoming summer months. This father works extremely hard to ensure all of his kids needs are met, he just needs a little leg up. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

This biological mom has been working her case while living in a sober living facility in the OKC metro. She recently graduated this program successfully, early, even, and has now moved into a new facility that will allow her minor child to visit during the weekends. This mom works more than 40 hours a week and has worked incredibly hard to maintain sobriety, as well as to engage in her case services. She has consistently shown concern for her daughter and her state of being, and the Department is excited to move her to overnight visitations. The only barrier we're encountering at the moment is that this mom needs a bassinet, outlet covers, a baby mat, size 4 diapers, baby wipes, and a baby bath in order to make sure the child is comfortable and safe while staying with her mother. Any help would be so appreciated as this mom has worked incredibly hard since becoming involved with the Department and is on track to be reunified with her child.
