A single mother is seeking assistance for her young child who has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The child is nonverbal, not toilet trained, and does not eat solid foods, making daily life particularly challenging. The mother works through a temporary staffing agency with limited and inconsistent income, and she is unable to afford essential tools that would help support her child's development and safety. Specifically, they are in need of a properly fitted, safety-certified bike helmet so the child can safely engage in outdoor physical activity, and a set of communication flashcards (such as PECS) to help the child express basic needs and emotions. These resources would greatly improve the child’s ability to communicate, reduce frustration, and promote both physical and emotional development. The mother has three children and is currently pregnant with her fourth. She is currently not working and does not have transportation to complete daily tasks for herself or her children. The mother is requesting to have a portable washing machine, which will come in handy to have in the home once she delivers. Currently the mother Ubers to a local laundry mat to wash the clothes for her household. However, once she delivers, she will be limited to outings as she recovers from her delivery. The mother’s support system is limited as she has relocated to Tampa from Tallahassee. It would bring greater peace, and an ease of mind to continue supporting her household with the portable washing machine. Otherwise, the mother would need to travel by Uber/Lyft to the local laundry mat with the clothes, a newborn and her 3 other children potentially once she is out for the summer. (A set of 5-year-old twins, and a 7-year-old).

This grandmother has temporary custody of her grandson who was sheltered from his mother and father. The grandmother has had her grandson for over a year and has requested several times to get a bed for her grandson, and did not receive assistance. The child is currently sleeping on a blow-up mattress in a room of his own. The grandmother keeps his clothing in a plastic bin in the living room. The child is likely to remain in the care of his grandmother, and she would like assistance with getting furniture needed for the child’s permanency. When the request is met, the child will have a more suitable bed and will have furniture for his room. The caregiver will be able to keep the child permanently if he is adopted by his grandmother.

The mother is a single mom to four children, and she was reunified in February of 2025. The mother and her four children have been residing with a family member in a one-bedroom apartment. The mother has received a subsidized housing voucher to move into housing of her own, but the program does not assist with security deposits. The mother works full time and is also enrolled in college and is working very hard to better herself and provide for her children. The mother needs assistance paying the security deposit required to move into a home which will allow her to provide ongoing safety and stability for her four children.

This family is in need for a bed for an 18-month-old as the child does not have appropriate sleeping arrangements and currently sleeps with his mother. The mother is requesting a crib/pack and play, sheets and pillow for the bed. Currently the family is in the process of moving as the mother does not feel safe at her current location. The case manager is requesting these items for safety concerns of the child co-sleeping with the mother. When the request is met, the child will have appropriate sleeping arrangements.

This is a one-income household where the father is the sole provider for the family. The mother is currently unable to work due to numerous medical issues and has a pending Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) case. The family home was significantly damaged by Hurricane Milton. Although a FEMA claim was filed and assistance was provided, the repairs were not completed properly, leaving the home in disrepair. One major issue is the air conditioning system, which remains nonfunctional.

A single mother working for a temporary employment agency with limited income is in urgent need of a Booster Car Seat for her young child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The child has significant developmental delays, including limited speech, an inability to eat solid foods, and is not yet potty trained, requiring extra care and support. The family’s financial constraints make it difficult to afford specialized equipment like a car seat. Providing this booster seat will allow the mother to safely transport her child to essential appointments, therapy sessions, and other activities, ensuring the child’s continued access to care and development opportunities while relieving some of the stress and burden on the mother.

The two oldest children have been involved with the department since early 2019. The children were initially placed together with another relative, but this placement broke down. The children have been with the caregiver since November 2024 and the family is willing to provide long term placement for this sibling group. The caregiver briefly received funding but is no longer receiving any financial assistance. They are expected to start receiving funding soon. This family has had to make a big adjustment including one where one of the caregivers took off a month of work when the children were placed with them to ensure that the needs of the children were met. This caregiver is still not fully working due to the transportation needs of the children. The caregiver has already utilized community resource to assist with getting the children clothing however they are still in need of more clothing.

The younger child wears a 7 top and bottom with a size 12 in children's shoes. The older child is a teenager and wears a XS top and 0 bottom. She wears a 6.5 women's shoe.

When the request is met, the child and teenager will continue to have their basic needs met.

This Cg house got flooded back in October from Hurricane Milton. This Cg has been handwashing laundry since October, her dryer was luckily on stilts and wasn't affected. This Cg is taking care of a two year old, she is older and hand-washing her clothes inside the bath tub is putting a huge strain on her back and knees. This Cg is asking for help with a washer.

A young pregnant mother who is the primary caregiver to two small children is in need of a queen-sized mattress. Her partner is the sole provider for the family, and they are struggling financially to meet all their basic needs. With limited funds, purchasing a proper mattress is not possible at this time. Providing a queen-sized mattress will give the mother a safe and comfortable place to rest, which is especially important during pregnancy. It will also improve her overall well-being and ability to care for her children, contributing to a healthier and more stable home environment.

Single mother of three children in need of rental assistance. The parent has a child with developmental and mental health needs. She is the sole provider to this child and their siblings while working and attending college full time. This family has no other support from family, friends, or the children's father. This caregiver is extremely stressed about her inability to afford the rent of the home she is currently living in, as her former roommate backed out of moving in and splitting the costs with her at the last minute after the caregiver had signed the lease for the home.

The caregiver has placement of three non-relative children who she has an amazing bond with. The caregiver is currently working two full-time jobs to be able to care for and provide a stable home for the children. The caregiver is not yet receiving non-relative caregiver funding, which has increased the financial strain on her significantly. The caregiver is in need of $200 toward her electric bill to alleviate some of this stress while waiting for funding to start. When the request is met the caregiver will have some of the current financial strain on her alleviated and she will be able to continue providing a stable environment for the children.
