A loving aunt recently and unexpectedly stepped up to care for her 7-year-old niece and her niece's 3-year-old sister, keeping the siblings together and providing them with a safe and stable home. She also has a young child of her own and is currently unemployed for the summer, as she works in a school setting and only receives income while school is in session. Although she budgets for the summer period, taking in two additional children has caused significant financial strain on her household. She is in need of groceries to help support the children until maintenance payments begin. Additionally, she needs a booster seat for the 7-year-old and a car seat for the 3-year-old so that she can safely transport the girls to appointments, activities, and visits. This caregiver has shown great love and commitment by taking on this responsibility with little notice, and your support would make a meaningful difference during this transitional time. A young mother of 3 small children (ages 5mos, 1yo, and 2yo) is working towards reunification. She has two jobs, just got a car, and is making steady progress in the juvenile case. Mother resides in an apartment in Cape Girardeau and only has one small window (not very efficient) unit in her home. I was at the apartment last week and it was very warm. I am requesting two window units for the family to be able to have air conditioning in the home. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This older youth is needing help with rent and deposit on a new apartment.

We have a youth with who we are trying to make a Kinship placement however this is being hindered due to an outstanding bill with Penn Foster. This will keep the youth from entering in a general school sitting as well. And assistance to help reduce this bill would be greatly appreciated (policy hinders the department from covering this support)

Pregnancy Care Center is serving a family that are trying to make ends meet. A mother, father, and 10 month old baby have been living with the mom's mother. The mom we are working with found her mother, passed away unexpectedly. We are helping them in the grief process and trying to get the mother connected with counseling. The mom has said they need help with groceries right now - specifically meat to cook meals. I am confident more needs will come up (diapers, expensive formula, other groceries, etc). We need someone to assist them with groceries. I can also give you information about formula. We need someone to be compassionate with this family in their grief. This family lives in northern Lebanon.

This youth is in a kinship placement. The placement has been able to help the youth with some of the basic needs, however could benefit from some assistance with clothing. Shorts: Size 10/12 and/or Large Shirts: Size 10/12 and/or Large

Single mother of 5 is in emergent need of one night hotel stay, DCS is assisting the family with hotel lodging extension but it is the end of the day with limited access to fiscal. The family will be able to stay in a hotel with more accommodations that is more like a small apartment which will make it feel more like home while they are seeking housing. Any help is appreciated.

The new home has no furniture, no beds for the family, no kitchen items, and the kids do not have any school clothes. The family is also not ready to welcome the new baby and mom is unable to work. Dad works full time to provide for everyone. The baby that is due in late summer is a boy. The beds can be twins or bunk beds but would need to include a mattress and bedding if possible. The family does have one working vehicle. The children could also use somethng to play with such as balls, toys, toys for a 1 year old toddler, and the girl in the family is 4 years old. The kids and parents need hygiene products such as shampoo and body wash and hairbrushes. Items marked "supplies" are for hygiene items, school supplies, and baby items such as baby wash.

This family of 8 is needing some assistance with gas cards. One of their daughters is medically fragile and is on a ventilator at CHOA without much progress. The parents are struggling financially and are specifically requesting gas cards to be able to afford their travel to and from the hospital to visit. The parents are taking shifts so that someone is with the other 5 children while the other is at the hospital with the 1.

We have a 19-year-old female who has moved out on her own with her 1-year-old daughter. This young mom is doing well but she does need some assistance to make things a little smoother. This youth is in need of washer and dryer to be able to have easy access to wash hers and her daughter's clothes.
