This family is in need of cleaning services to help get a handle on getting the home cleaned and helping with laundry and getting it put away. Parents for the children are receiving services for substance use and are not able to care for the children in a safe manner. Grandma has stepped in and is taking care of them.

There are 4 kids in this home, 3 are siblings and 1 is a cousin. Grandma is taking care of all 4 of them at this time. They have recently moved into this home and have fallen behind on keeping it clean and uncluttered. Grandma is very overwhelmed with all 4. Ages are from 6 months to 7 years old. CD has helped with some laundry and getting laundry soap and getting a few loads washed and dried. Case management has reached out to Hot Mess Moms, but they are not currently taking applications. Community Action of Greater Kansas City has also been contacted. Grandma has recently stopped working in order to care for her grandkids. Daycare is being looked at with help from CD. This family is very kind and accepting of help.

A grandmother has been caring for her infant granddaughter since she was released from the NICU and has been struggling to make ends meet since then. The baby recently celebrated her first birthday and is close to graduating from her special needs program!

Grandmother's washer recently started acting up and she does not have the money to cover the repairs, as her car is already needing work done. With infant clothes and toys constantly needing washed, this grandmother is in need of repairs as soon as possible to continue to care for her granddaughter. A local appliance repairman has estimated the cost of fixing (including service fees) to be around $120. We are asking for financial assistance to pay the invoice once repairs are completed.

Grandmother and child live in Harrisonville, we expect that the invoice can be paid over the phone.

A 17-year-old recently received her own bedroom and is looking to make it her own! She has a bed and vanity but is looking for a tall dresser, a vanity stool, pink and/or white curtains, and some LED lights. She loves the colors pink and white and would love these items in those colors. Thank you for helping her create her safe space!

Good afternoon. I am requesting community assistance to help a older pregnant homeless youth on my caseload with getting some temporary food assistance. The youth in question is 19, pregnant, and a MO Children's Division Foster Youth. The youth is 4-6 weeks pregnant and is currently couch surfing until a permanent safe placement option can be found for her. We are requesting $100 gift card at maybe Walmart to help the youth purchase food for the next month. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Good afternoon. I am requesting community assistance to help a 19 yr old pregnant homeless Foster Youth with getting a temporary storage unit to store her stuff until she can find stable housing. The youth in question is currently homeless and is couch surfing until we can locate a stable placement option. All of her personal items including clothing, , etc were being stored at a friends home but her "friend" no longer wants the items in her home and has threatened to throw everything out. We are requesting $150 to help with obtaining and paying for a 2-3 month storage unit so the youth has a safe place to store her belongings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Good morning care portal, we are seeking your support this morning. DCCCA has a case manager working with two teenage children who sneak out or sneak friends in. Their mother needs to complete school and work to support the children and needs to be able to see when they are leaving the home or bringing people into the home. Their behavior and not knowing who is coming in or who they leave with has become a scary situation for this mother. Currently this is the primary concern for the case as well as the only obstacle left to close the case. The family is in therapy and doing better in communication but this would be an added safe guard to keep the teens safe and give this mother peace of mind. We are requesting your help with a 4 indoor camera set that can be accessed by smart phone with sound and ability to speak back and forth. The cost is approximately $180 before taxes in amazon. Family is needing A/C window unit for child's room. Family has one unit in living room. Having an A/C unit in the child's room will help the child sleep better and be more comfortable.

Family is needing assistance with either first months rent or deposit on house. Familys current home is infested with fleas and mice. Parents report landlord has not been assisting with issue (January is when it started). Parents are on disability and fixed income. Family had to get rid of their mattresses and are sleeping on air mattresses at this time due to the fleas.

I have sisters in our community that are in need of a good night's sleep. Something every child deserves. Right now they are without proper beds and I am asking for funding for two twin mattress and a bunk bed frame for them. This will make such a big difference in their lives giving them comfort and a sense of security being able to sleep in the same room with each other. I think those with siblings will know how important it is to grow that bond which why I am asking for a bunk bed. Thank you in advance for always helping my families!!

Parents struggle with getting transportation to and from their daughter's medical appointments. Their daughter has a lot of medical issues, which cause her to need numerous medical appointments a month. The mother, who is approximately 6 months pregnant, takes the bus and walks a great distance to get from the bus stops to her daughter's appointments. Any amount given towards this family will help. It would greatly strengthen the bond with the family as they work toward reunification and take some stress off mom, who is not only fighting for her baby back, but also carrying another life!

This request is to help a family in need with a Temporary Alternative Placement Agreement. The parents are working on various items to improve themselves and to make themselves and their home a safe place for the child to return home to. The extended family that is placement for the child currently are sturggling financially to make ends meet. Currently they are in need of gas cards to help keep gas in the car to get the child to daycare. Without this aid they will have to miss more shifts at work and without work they will not be able to keep the child with them.

By helping with this request you are directly helping keep a child out of court custody and out of the foster system.

We have a 20-year-old girl who is attempting to age out of care, but is having trouble getting on her feet. She had car issues with her first car, and was able to save up and buy another car just a few months ago. She is now having issues with her current car, which is a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. She recently started work at Panda Express, but is only making $16 an hour. She is working part-time hours as she was also working part-time with a landscaping business on weekends. Panda Express is still hiring and therefore, hasn't been able to increase her hours. Due to the issues she is having with her car's acceleration, she has not been able to resume work with the landscaping business and is missing out on money. Her job at Panda Express is 18 minutes away from her placement, which has forced her to spend a good portion of her income on Ubering to and from work. She is also planning to attend the Phlebotomy program at KCKCC this fall and will therefore need reliable transportation for that. She previously took her car to Auto Zone and had diagnostics run. She purchased a new starter and spent over $200, but is still having issues that she can't currently afford to assess and fix. Any support would be appreciated, whether that is financial or someone who can help assess and diagnose the problem(s) with her car.
