DHS is working with a family of 5 that is being evicted from their current home. They are in need of totes to pack up their items. We are asking for 5-10 totes. I priced them at WalMart and they are approx. $9 each for a 66qrt. The family will accept new or used of any size. Any help is appreciated!

A mother of a youth is in need of $1,150 in order to be able to pay for her rent for the month of June. Her son recently returned home with her, and she had to use the money that she had for food. She is currently facing eviction. If someone could support this request, it would positively impact her and her son.

A sweet one-year-old girl in Teller County is in urgent need of support and care. After a recent move from out of state, she now finds herself in foster care here in Colorado with no family nearby. Both of her parents are currently incarcerated, and this little one is facing the world without the comfort and stability every child deserves. While her foster family is doing everything they can to provide for her, they are in need of support to meet her growing needs to include clothing, diapers, toys, and other essentials that help create a loving and secure environment. We are reaching out to our compassionate community to ask for help. Any donation will go directly toward caring for this precious girl and giving her a safe start. A Walmart or Visa gift card or cash would permit foster parents to purchase needed items that best fit her sizing and developmental needs.

A Teller County family needs the community’s help! Two children who have been in foster care will be, wonderfully, reuniting with family. Their grandparents live out in a rural area on a couple acres of land. This spunky 6-year old girl and energetic 9-year old boy need an outdoor outlet to help get them engaged versus stuck screens all day. The Department is respectfully asking for assistance in purchasing two bicycles with training wheels (estimated 16 inch for her and 18 inch for him) and helmets (can’t forget safety! Size age 5-8 for her, Size 8+ for him) for these sweet kiddos. Not only would these bikes help the children burn off energy and let them enjoy the natural beauty Teller County has to offer, but assisting the children in learning to ride would be a bonding tool for the father and grandparents. The little girl loves all things pink, purple, and girly. The little boy loves blue, red, and Minecraft. We would be grateful for the outright gift of bikes and helmets (please include receipt in case we under/over-estimated their sizes!) or gift cards to allow us to purchase them. DHS is working with a family who have two children; a 3yr old son and 1yr old son. The children are in process of returning home. Mother is requesting assistance with obtaining beds for the boys to ensure they have a safe sleeping space through the transition and when they officially return home.

DHS would like to request help with purchasing two small beds for these children so they will have their own space/place to sleep and ensure they remain safe.

Requesting multi-layered support for family, ongoing financial hardships and food insecurity. Single father of a 7th grade girl that gets minimal child support/assistance from her mother. He is currently employed as a ride share driver but has inconsistent work hours which directly impact the household income. Due to the varying work hours childcare/after school care is not easily accessible when school is not in session. The family was recently informed that they are no longer eligible for Medicaid or food stamps (the EBT program). The family often struggles, running low or out of essentials in between paychecks, with little extended family to assist when struggling. When speaking with the father, he is preparing for a possible move in August because of projected income struggles versus affordable rent.
