Patient is a 4-year-old male at Children's Mercy Hospital. This patient had a traumatic birth when he was first born and since then has received multiple challenging medical diagnoses. These diagnoses include neurofibromatosis (tumors in the nervous system), 22Q deletion syndrome (a genetic syndrome that causes cleft palate, immune system disorders, kidney problems, and feeding difficulties), and diagnosed global developmental delay. These diagnoses have made it incredibly difficult for patient's father to keep a job, as he frequently must stay home to take care of his child. Of note, he is a single parent after his partner left him with the baby when she became too overwhelmed to take care of him. Without a job or a second income, dad informed us that he is in danger of his electricity being shut off due to not getting this bill paid, he currently owes $997 to Evergy. He has talked with Evergy and they are willing to put him on a 3 month payment plan if he pays a deposit of $339. He has been applying for part-time jobs but has not had great luck. He is currently in the process of applying for Social Security for his child’s disability but still is unsure how much he will begin receiving. Please help with this patient so his electricity does not get shut off and even more of his medical diagnoses worsen.

Single mother is in need of a stroller to help her take her newborn to appointments and travel via the bus. Mom is working with the Children's Division prevention team. Mom is Spanish speaking only. Thank you for your consideration!

A family member is taking in three young children ages 1,3, and 4. Car seats are not safe from the parents due to the condition and the family being homeless and living out of the car. Family member is needing car seats to be able to transport children to the doctors and other appointments that are needed.

This is a request for a 1-year-old female who entered KS foster care and was placed with a relative in Kansas City, MO. We are requesting a crib for the child. This child is not walking yet but she will be 2 this summer and her case manager said it would be best if we were able to acquire a crib that transitions to a toddler bed as we will likely need to request a toddler bed in the near future when she is able to walk. If that is not available, a crib will be great as she is currently using a pack n play temporarily while we locate a crib for her. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you!

This youth has been in foster care for several months primarily on one-nights without a long term placement offering stability and security. This youth is a teenager who needs stability and support. We will be transitioning this youth to reintegrate with his mother who has relocated since the case began. Reunification is the best plan for this youth and their family to be sure their needs are met. Reunification will require this youth to have a bedroom and bed of his own to sleep in which mom is currently unable to provide. We are in need of the bed as this is the final item needed to support this family in reunification efforts. We are confident that once he returns home, his behaviors will continue to improve and this family will be able to continue to thrive with the support of therapy and community resources.

15 year old female just got out of a residential facility and is currently in a foster home. She is wanting to reconnect with her family and friends. There are concerns with her having access to a regular cellphone due to sex trafficking; however, we do not want to punish her for things that occurred to her. A BARK phone would help this child be able to reintegrate herself into her community while having appropriate restrictions and boundaries. Phones are a lifeline for teenagers right now and we feel it is important that she be able to have access to this device while also keeping her safe. We are requesting the BARK phone as well as a payment for an additional month so that this child will have time to save and earn money in the meantime to start paying for the phone.

Please consider assisting two young brothers who were recently placed in kinship placement with their grandmother. The children had a very limited supply of clothing when placed with grandma. Grandma is also needing baby equipment to ensure the children's safety in the home and on the go. If you are able to assist with any of these item, it would be much appreciated! Thank you so much!

I am reaching out to to help a family in need. A local family is attempting to reunite with their four young children, who are currently in foster care. They are completing all the necessary steps to bring their family of six together again, and we want to support them during this important time.

3 Car seats: Seat belt booster seat, Combination Seat belt/harness booster, Convertible seat for infant

These items will ensure that the children have a safe way to be transported in by the parents as they transition into the new residence of their parents. If you can assist in providing these items, your generosity would mean the world to this family.

This family is needing a lock box for the mother’s prescribed medications to prevent the child from having access to them.

This request in also in addition to support the family in care portal ID: 227440. Mom is also needing assistance with baby supplies as she has nothing for this child. Types of things needed are gently used baby essentials like bottles, blankets, clothing, diapers and wipes, bath soap, wash cloths, baby towels, lotion, baby tub, bottle brush, diaper cream, stroller, baby swing or bouncer etc. We have given mom a portable bassinet and Northside Christian Church was able to provide a car seat.
