A group home for boys in foster is in need of two nice pots and pans sets. They get hand me downs often and are very appreciative but when it comes to cookware they fall apart quickly since they are used. They will be used daily and would love to have a set that would be something that wouldn't scratch easily. This program encourages the boys to learn necessary life skills and cooking is one of those skills. They are appreciative for any help you can give. The facility has four houses full of boys in care. Two of the houses are also in need of bagless vacuums. The boys are responsible for daily chores and vacuuming is a big part of that. Theirs are old and have stopped working. Thank you!

Hello, I am working with a single mother of 4 children (1-17 years old) on getting her vehicle fixed. Mother was unable to get children to school at the end of the year and family has been struggling with daily activities without reliable transportation. Family is currently using the bus transit when absolutely needed otherwise they walk or just stay at home. I was able to reach out to Grace Mobile Repair for a free diagnosis and this is the diagnosis and cost I received for the family: Three things need fixed on the car. The brakes need bled. This means the brake fluid is not running all the way to the brakes so the brakes won't function appropriately. The second item is a new battery. The third is a canister purge solenoid. These things should get car up and running. Brake fluid- we have extra we can use and labor will be donated
Used (refurbished) battery at allied battery store is 59.95 before tax. Labor will be donated Canister purge solenoid is 39.70 before tax. Labor will be 115 dollars for this. 1 hour of labor will be donated. Total cost with estimate of tax is $222.16 Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We are seeking help for a loving grandmother of six who needs an old, broken refrigerator removed from her home. Her family has done intensive case management to support her, but this task requires more hands and resources than they have. She is unable to move it herself due to health and mobility issues. Any assistance with removal and proper disposal would be deeply appreciated and make a big difference in her daily life.

This sweet mom has had a rough time with housing recently. Her landlord gave her very short notice regarding renovations coming to her rental that they would need to move out for, so she has been hustling to find a new home for herself and her children that fits within her budget. She finally found one that she can move into next week, but she is struggling to come up with the security deposit. Any small amount would be a great help to this family!

On 05/27/2025 mom identified needing urgent help with electric bill as electric is about to be shut off. There are four children in the home ranges ages 9 months, 6yo, 9yo & 15yo. MO has recently been approved for Section 8 housing and is actively searching for housing as the family is currently living in a very small 2 bedroom apartment. MO also reported needing assistance for clothes for the CH and food. (CPS gave MO resources- United Way One Page)

Hey CarePortal family, this is another much needed request for this mom and family. After being homeless for 2 years, mom has found a safe and affordable place to reside however, there isn't a refrigerator. Another household item that she needs is a bed. Mom is trying to create a safe and loving environment for her and her family and we are asking for any help with these two items.

Family is moving into permanent housing and needing some basic furniture. Family is asking for a washer and dryer set, dressers, curtains, and bath accessories (rugs, shower curtains) and sheets for a queen and two full size mattresses.

There are two children 7 (Boy) and 10 (Girl) The family is also needing 2 fans to help keep the house cool. The family also needs beds a bunk bed with a Twin sized top and a full sized bottom bunk for the two children. The family is also needing pest spray for ants. Family currently has limited resources.

Mother reported to CPS worker that she does not have money to pay her rent. Currently she is living with one child in a one bedroom apartment in Wichita. She is employed full-time. Mother also recently found out she's pregnant and is not sure of her due date. Money for rent will need to be sent to Mullen Court Apartments.

Children were placed in Protective Custody and released to aunt. There are 8 children that aunt is caring for, in addition to her own 3 children. The family has moved beds from the children family home but are missing a couple. The family is needing 2 twin size mattresses and a bunkbed to have the room to set them up in her home. Bedding would be helpful as well for each of the beds for the bunk. Additionally, she is needing some plastic drawers or a couple dressers to store the children clothing while the children are in her care. There will be an toddler and an infant in the home as well and she needs two baby gates for her stairs.

Hey family, while we are continuing to "help people intentionally" I have an adult female that has been homeless for two long years. She was released from confinement (arrested for domestic disturbance) and upon returning to her home she found that her family had evacuated the home and she was given an eviction notice. This meant she had to start anew, and she was able to do odd jobs to earn money while actively looking for permanent work. While going to AA and NA meetings (self directed, not required) unfortunately she was robbed of $700 and doesn't have $500 for rent this month. Her goal is to reunite with her 3 children in a safe and stable home.

A resilient family is working hard to rebuild their lives and create a stable, loving home for their children. Recently, their 13-year-old son was joyfully reintegrated into their care. This transition has come with numerous mental health appointments and emotional support needs, which the father has made a priority-so much so that he lost his job while ensuring his son received the care he deserved. Though the father has since found new employment, the position pays significantly less, and the family has fall behind on essential bills, including utilities. They are now facing the heartbreaking possibility of losing access to basic services. The household also includes a bright and spirited 5-year-old with extensive needs, and the family is actively preparing to welcome their daughter back into their home as well. Their hearts are full, but the challenges are many. Support during this time would make an immediate and lasting impact. Keeping the utilities on will not only prevent disruption to their daily lives, but also allow the family to focus on nurturing their children, healing together, and building the future they're all working so hard to create. With this help, they will be able to maintain stability and continue moving forward with hope and strength.
