Help Strengthen a Bio Family
Patient has been residing in the U.S. for the past three years, originally comes from Honduras and has no immediate family or support here. Her family remains in Honduras, and she is navigating an extremely vulnerable situations on her own.
She is the mother of a 4-year-old daughter who has been diagnosed with autism and is scheduled for surgery soon due to severely enlarged tonsils that are interfering with her ability to breathe. Her daughter is in need of diapers. She is a size 7 in diapers. The patient is currently pregnant.
Until recently, the household’s sole provider was her husband, who has now been arrested. As a result, the family has lost its only source of income. She is actively working with legal counsel to navigate the situation, but her immediate needs continue to grow. Due to the lack of funds, her phone service is expected to be disconnected shortly, which will further isolate her during this difficult time, as well as difficulty paying rent.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, the patient remains incredibly resilient, facing each day with strength and kindness. Given the urgent nature of her circumstances, she is in need of financial and social support now more than ever.
Once her phone service is disconnected, she has requested that she be contacted through a friend, Nimia, who can be reached at(###) ###-####. The patient and her friend are fluent in Spanish.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing
The client is a single mother who recently gave birth to twin girls prematurely at 33 weeks gestation. While the babies are currently receiving necessary care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), their discharge is anticipated in the near future. Due to the high-risk nature of her pregnancy, the mother was placed on bed rest prior to delivery and consequently had to cease working. Unfortunately, she does not have access to maternity leave benefits, leaving her with very limited financial resources.
Providing a double stroller with infant car seats will significantly ease the single mother's practical and financial burdens, especially since the mother was unable to purchase baby items. This will enable safe transport to appointments, simplify errands for baby supplies, reduce isolation, and free up limited funds for other critical needs. This support will facilitate a smoother transition home and empower her to confidently care for her premature twins.
Updated on April 21, 2025 by an Agency Worker
I am updating the request to reflect that the client is now in need of only a double stroller. While the infant car seats have already been purchased, the family is still in urgent need of a double stroller to safely transport their newborn twins. The twins are scheduled to be discharged from the hospital on April 22, 2025, and the client currently does not have a stroller suitable for two infants. Any support in fulfilling this updated request would be greatly appreciated, as it will help ensure the babies’ safety and ease the transition home for the family.

Help Remove an Educational Barrier for a Child
15 y/o teen boy is asking for assistance in securing a laptop. Despite everything life has thrown at him, he has managed to put effort into improving his grades and engage in enrichment activities, all while actively seeking employment and preparing for his permit exam. He has expressed his challenges without a laptop, which hinders his studies and other online activities crucial for his development, such as job applications, potential career paths, and pursuing his hobbies like producing music. As he progresses and matures, having a reliable laptop will greatly enhance his ability to navigate resources effectively and allow him to save money for a car. Your support would be extremely appreciated in helping him achieve his goals and setting a strong foundation for his future.
Thank you for considering this request in empowering young individuals like this teen.

Help Improve a Child's School Attendance
The child requested assistance from the case manager in obtaining new clothing. Previously, the child attended a school that required uniforms, so most of her wardrobe consisted of school attire. However, she has since transferred to a new school that does not require uniforms and now has little to no appropriate clothing to wear. The case manager spoke with the foster parent about helping the child with clothing needs. The foster parent stated that the child would be receiving a $300 stipend in July for school shopping. Due to the lack of suitable clothing, the child has already missed a few days of school.
The child is very much in need of the following in order to go to school : Shirts, jeans, shorts, socks, pants, shoes, and skirts.
A gift card would also be very helpful

Helping One of Our Own
We’d like to share the story of one of our dedicated Healthy Start home visitors who recently experienced an unexpected hardship. As part of her role, she uses her vehicle to travel to clients’ homes, providing vital services and support to families in our community.
During a recent day of home visits, her car overheated and left her stranded on the road. Thankfully, another staff member quickly stepped in to assist, picking her up and helping her complete the rest of her scheduled visits. Her car was later towed to a mechanic, where it was determined that the water pump and hoses needed to be replaced. The total cost for the repairs came to $450.
She was able to pay $150 toward the repairs, but she is still in need of $300 to get her car back on the road. Her vehicle is essential to fulfilling her job responsibilities and maintaining her livelihood, as her program contract requires reliable transportation for home visiting.
Any amount of support would go a long way in helping her continue her important work with Healthy Start families. Thank you for considering a contribution or simply sharing this story with others who may be able to help.
