The agency is in process of reunifying a family. The family is in need of 3 twin beds for their children ages 8, 13, and 3 (two boys and one girl). They will also need appropriate bedding.

Recent divorcee with three daughters. Her daughters are growing up fast and are too big for their old beds.

A loving grandparent has been caring for her 8-year-old granddaughter that was recently attacked by a dog back in March 2025, which caused her granddaughter to lose an eye. The child has undergone surgeries and multiple doctor's visits to get the treatment she needs. Grandmother is trying to work as many hours as possible but with the many trips to appointments she has only been able to work a day or two a week. This is causing her to lose the income that she is used to living on and falling behind on her expenses. Currently she is behind two months on rent ($750/month), two months on her car loan ($659/month), her AES is $374, and her CenterPoint is behind at $300. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A single mother and her two children are currently staying in a hotel after an electrical fire displaced them from their rental home, which they had just moved into in April. While the Red Cross and her insurance covered the first four nights, insurance is now making it difficult to extend their stay. Their current room is only covered until 11 AM today.

The mother has appointments with apartment complexes this week but needs temporary housing in the meantime. We’re seeking help to cover one additional week at the hotel, which is offered to her at a discounted rate of $109 per night. The total cost for 7 nights is $763. Any support to help keep this family safely housed during this difficult transition is deeply appreciated.

Single mother of two children under the age of four years old is in need of deposit assistance. This mother was historically involved with the children's biological father who was physically abusive towards her. She often would not follow through with the TPO process, until January 2025. Mother successfully obtained a TPO for herself and her children in January 2025. She has minimal support in Dayton, Oh, therefore she is moving to Columbus, Oh to be near her father and brother for the safety and support of herself and her children. She has gained an emergency transfer of her Section 8 vouchers. She has also been approved for more than half of the deposit amount from Artemis. She is still in desperate need of $600 to make up the difference of the deposit of $1775.00.

Family is in need of a supplies for maintaining the cleanliness of the home. Mother is in need of cock roach cleaning and repellent supplies.

This student recently broke his bike and has attempted multiple times to fix it with no luck. He uses the bike to get around the community for school, sports, and summer work as both his parents work and mom is finishing up radiation for her breast cancer.

The parents relocated to Dayton, Ohio from Hamilton County and had some problems finding employment and are unable to pay rent for May 2024. Mother and father both have recently obtained employment in the area and mother is working part-time and father is working full-time and they are working opposite shifts so that they do not have to have daycare for their 1 year old child. The have both been working just over two weeks. Mother is currently pregnant and due in June 2025. The parents have worked hard to obtain everything they need for their daughter and unborn child, but have been unable to save enough money to pay for the May rent due to getting caught up on bills and only having one paycheck each from their jobs. The rent is due on May 3, 2025.

A loving aunt has been caring for her nephew since his mother passed away in 2018. She only recently made it through the court process to obtain custody. She is working with OhioKAN to secure kinship benefits but she currently has a shut off notice for a water bill of $1343.57. She is self-employed at a hair salon and work has been slower than normal. Also, her older nephew, who is in his young 20’s and employed, had been living with her and helping to pay the utilities but moved out to start a family of his own. The Aunt has been calling MVCAP every Monday as directed to see if she can get support for this bill but keeps being told all the appointments are full and try back next week. She has called some churches who offered to pay $150 towards the bill if she could pay the remaining amount, which she just could not afford to do. She also filled out an application for PRC funds but has not heard back. She is very worried her water will be shut off and we are kindly asking for assistance with any or all of this bill to help her get back on track. She has started picking up additional jobs to increase her income and once the kinship benefits are on board, she will be back on track. We appreciate all you do to support kinship families!

Mother is homeless and bouncing from house to house. She is in need of copies of her birth certificate and the 2 children's birth certificates to be able to apply for housing. She also needs her birth certificate so she can get a driver's license and apply for jobs. Mother has no income or financial support at this time. Birth certificates are $23.00 a piece.

Mother of three with a baby due in May needs assistance with her vehicle. She does not have reliable transportation which serves as a barrier getting her children to appointments. She's had recent work on her vehicle but needs a catalytic converter and rear bearings very soon to avoid other problems.

A family of five are living on limited income and managing to pay bills but their finances do not allow room for anything else. MCCS is helping this family apply for additional benefits to stabilize the household. Due to the family size, limited income, and children sharing beds; we are asking for CarePortal assistance with two twin bed sets to give them adequate space and comfort as they are growing!
