Kinship. This family was affected by the LA Wildfires and this is for Disaster Relief. Kin Caregiver is currently caring for two teenage boys, and the family was displaced due to the LA wildfires. The family is currently staying at a motel. The home did not burn down but it was damaged, and they had to move out. The landlord has the caregiver in limbo because the landlord is not sure what she will do with the property. The caregiver is paying for 2 rooms nightly which totals $160.00 before taxes. Paying for the rooms, food and gas has been a lot for her. The caregiver stated that she is need of assistance with housing, gas for her car (ARCO) funding for groceries ( Walmart or Food 4 Less), the hotel rooms daily payment as well as clothing and hygiene products for the two teenage boys. She is not working right now but wants to find employment. She receives funding for the boys. She also stated that it is difficult to find employment right now due to being displaced. She is requesting the following: hotel assistance- $500, grocery gift card to Walmart or Food 4 Less-$400, gas gift to Arco-$200.00, clothing and shoes for children- $300.00 (each child) and gift card for hygiene products- $100.00 (each child).

A dedicated single mother in the final five weeks of RCC’s nursing program is seeking assistance with summer clothing for her two children. As she prepares for the upcoming expense of licensing fees required to begin her nursing career, she is currently unable to afford these essential items.

Her 14-year-old son wears a men’s medium in shirts and size 14 in pants. Her 10-year-old daughter wears size 10/12 tops and 11/12 pants, she is tall for her age.

We have a young, single mother of 3 children (ages 1, 4 and 5). She is experiencing unstable housing and financial stress. The mother is a victim of domestic violence and is trying to keep her children sheltered and safe from harm. The mother has been residing with the maternal grandmother in a single unit apartment with the children. The MGM put the mother and children out on yesterday and stole the mother’s food stamps from her EBT card. The mother is not able to purchase any food for herself and the children. She was able to get a room in Hollywood through PATH and is awaiting placement in a DV shelter. DCFS and the agencies involved with this family are working tirelessly to find a residence the mother and children. The mother can be reached on her cell phone and the CSW is able to correspond with the mother accordingly. We are hoping that a donor will pick up this request and provide the family with a $300.00 grocery gift card or purchase food for the family so that the mother and children do not go hungry.

We have a mother who has a six-month old baby that is teething. The mother is very resilient and is thriving with all of her programs she is involved in. She is a domestic violence survivor and is using her experience to build and grow within her life. She is in therapy to address the concerns that brought her family to the attention of the Department. She is a domestic violence survivor. She is a good mother who truly cares for her daughter. During our meetings the baby is always smiling and giggling. Recently, the baby began teething and is in need of hypoallergenic-silicon weaning cups, baby spoons, feeding set, and food making system (NutriBullet). I am in hopes that some of these items can possibly make it to her.

I am working with a young 19-year old NMD mother of an adorable and smart 2 year-old little boy. She is a good mother who ensures her son has all of this needs met. She is trying to better herself and her education in order to obtain a job/career for the future of her family. Initially, she saved up and enrolled in Phlebotomy school in Riverside, she completed 4 of 12 classes, but had to stop for a time because of childcare issues. She has since worked on securing childcare and wants to re-start, but now does not have all of the funds needed to complete her program, although she has saved some. She is on a limited income of $500 a month so saving anything significant has been a challenge for her. She is asking for assistance of approx $500 to be paid to the school. Once she completes this program she believes she can find a job in this field that she is very interested in. Thank you for your time in reviewing this request.

The referred family is requesting assistance of $150 for child’s glasses. The child has behavioral outbursts in which the resource parent has reported that child often breaks his glasses when upset. Resource parent reported that Medi-cal only covers one pair of glasses per year and she has had to purchase extra pairs for the child when he breaks his glasses. child has severe vision impairment and has been diagnosed with primary seizure disorder, Congenital nystagmus with sensory abnormality, Refractive amblyopia, and bilateral, congenital cataract of both eyes and Pseudophakia of both eyes, developmental delay, and regular astigmatism of both eyes. Resource parents are requesting financial assistance for reimbursement of 150$ spent on another pair of glasses for the child. This assistance will also help support child with remaining in current placement, as he presents with behavioral challenges, which is difficult for the resource parent at times, because child continues to break his glasses when engaging in a behavioral outburst. Child cannot see correctly without glasses for vision support. The family would be appreciative of any help and want to explore all options to make the child as comfortable as possible at home

Child has grown up in and out of foster care. Child was raised without knowing who his father was. In 2023 Mother named a man, after DNA results, in Dec 2023- the child found out who his biological father was. Much to father's surprise, as he was informed he could not have children. Father quickly began visiting and getting to know his son. Over a year has passed since they have first met and things have dramatically changed for father and son. They attend family therapy together and are building their relationship. Father was displaced after breaking up with his girlfriend who was not welcoming to the child, after the breakup father was set to move to a home in Pasadena in Jan 2025. Sadly, the home they were supposed to move into- was burned down by the Eaton Fire. Father found housing in Glendora. Father is in need of a couch, dining table and even a TV. Child loves to play video games and uses video games to escape and get his mind off of things such as the emotional toll that visits with his mother and siblings. Father has worked so hard to be able to find a stable place that court can release the child to, and despite his initial home that burned down; he did not give up and did not let that bring him down.

A counselor at a local high school shared a need for a local family. The family was displaced, and did seek a motel voucher from the district. Thankfully they're back in an apartment, but the mom shared they're in need of a stove.The oldest a senior at the high school and there are two younger brothers. The family is requesting help in getting a gas stove.

I am currently working with a single mother who is currently in the hospital about to give birth. Mother has a open case with her six year old daughter. Mother has successfully secured housing and is in complete compliance with all court orders. We are tying to prevent the Department from detaining the newborn. Mother needs to have basic necessities when the Department goes to the hospital. Mother has most of the items but not the car seat. Mother continues to work very hard to reunify with her daughter and is following all court orders and recommendations. The case put a financial strain on mother as she had to attend various classes throughout her dependency case and purchasing new items to prepare for the new baby. Mother would be grateful for any assistance , thank you in advance.

Hello, I am working with a 12th grader that has been absent often due to the parent not having enough money for gas. The parent had surgery done and is possibly having a second surgery, the parent has been out of work due to her medical situation and is struggling to provide for her family. While the parent gets back on feet and starts back at work we would like to offer them a $400 gift card to help out with food, gas and other daily items they need. This will improve the well being of this student and sibling and also improve their attendance in school. We appreciate any help that can be provided for this family. A single mother of two is currently facing a utility shut-off after falling behind on payments. She has been residing in her unit for an extended period and has been adhering to a payment plan of $120 per month. This month, her outstanding balance has reached $438.17. She has received a red tag notice warning that if she does not pay at least half of the balance, her utilities will be disconnected. To prevent the shut-off, she is attempting to pay $219, but is requesting assistance with covering the remaining balance in order to avoid further disconnection threats.

I have a student in my school that is going through a hard time. His family will be experiencing housing uncertainty at the end of the month. My student's main concern is not having enough food to eat or any clothes to wear. The single mom is doing the best she can to work and provide for her two children but has fallen on hard times recently. My student comes to school emotional and worried. Filling this request would enhance well being for my student, his little brother and their mom.

I am asking for a grocery card for the family. A pair of shoes and some underwear, plain shirts and pants for the each boy. Also some clothing items for mom if possible.
