Our I Belong Project video shoots are about more than producing videos for adoption profiles; they are about giving kids, and the caseworkers who bring them, a memorable, fun, therapeutic day where they feel seen and valued. A great meal is a key part of that experience! This time, we're bowling at WSU and planning to film close to 30 kids in foster care awaiting adoption. We are not allowed to bring outside food in, so we need a food sponsor to take care of our tab at the concessions. Your sponsorship would cover all costs associated with providing a lunchtime meal and beverages to kids, caseworkers, volunteers, and creative professionals. We plan to order pizzas and then let each child order their own drink and candy. The kids found this so cool last time! Would you consider covering lunch for us?

Hey Team, since we are "Serving with Joy" I have a single mom that is currently in need and is employed with Wichita State University. She did some extra contractual work in marketing for WSU and when they finally paid her, it was short by $400. She was expecting the full amount in order to meet her rent. This underpayment was unexpected and unforeseen and is causing a hardship for her and her family. She is asking for help to secure her monthly rent. Any and all help is welcomed.

I am working with a two-parent household that recently began receiving case management services through the Stabilization Program. Currently, the family is relying on a single income, as one adult is in the process of applying for SSI. The clients were both laid off from stable employment in December, and only one has since been able to secure work. The family has one child and is seeking assistance with next month’s rent. They have $450 available to contribute but require additional $850 to cover the full amount. Once this immediate need is met, the family will be able to maintain stable housing.

Mom is an Educator and doesn't receive unemployment during the summer when school is out. Her and her children (4) are forced to relocate. She is asking for assistance with her new rental place. The amount that is needed is $950.00. This family has experienced a lot of hardship and could really use our help.

I have a client who recently began receiving case management services through the Stabilization Program. She is currently earning income through DoorDash while actively searching for a job, as USD 259 is out for the summer break. She is a single mother of three and works full-time as a paraprofessional during the school year. However, due to reduced income over the summer, she is in need of assistance with her rent. Her total rent is $1,050, but she only requires $800 in assistance, as she is able to contribute $250 toward July's rent.

This pregnant mom and her family are trying to move into a new apartment by the end of the month when their lease ends. She has to pay off a lease from a previous apartment before she is able to move into a new place. We are working on long-term planning for jobs, housing, and childcare. However, she is unable to move forward on any of those until she has this lease paid off and has a place to stay at the end of the month. She has about half of it saved up so far and needs about $500 to finally end that debt!

This mom is trying to get set up with WIC, but she has not been able to get transportation for the appointments. She has been coming to us for help with diapers and formula, but she is needing a bit more to help her get through the month. WIC would be a great resource for her family to help with the cost of groceries and formula. The transportation would be for herself and her 10-month-old son. She has a car seat for him.

V is a mom and grandma working hard to care for her two children and one grandson. She fell behind on her electric bill due to an illness and missing work and now it's shut off. They were able to stay last night at a friend's house but that's not feasible to do again. Any amount helps to stabilize this family and help prevent the need for foster care!

Hey CarePortal family, I have a request for help from a single mom. Her husband deserted the family without any financial support and he has no plans of returning. To ensure that this bio family of three can stay together safely, they need their utilities paid off (Evergy $1300.00 and Kansas Gas $609.00) because this is hindering their ability to get new service at another location. They also need help finding a new home or apartment to rent. This is a very difficult and stressful situation for this family and they could really use our help. Homeless family needs help with deposit and 1st months' rent. The Grandma welcomed three small grandchildren into her home when the daughter was sent to prison. She is providing a loving home for these children but was evicted when the landlord sold the house. The oldest son just started a job at Spirit and will live with the family for a year to help with rent to stabilize the family. Children 1st is paying for the hotel rooms, and the grandmother is actively looking for housing. Please help us get the family out of the hotel and into stable housing.

This family is in urgent need of a refrigerator and a deep freezer after their home was flooded due to recent rains and flash-flooding earlier this month. This family is facing a daunting recovery process with their four young children (ages 3 months to 7 years). Adding to their challenges, the mother and two of her children suffer from hemophilia, a rare bleeding disorder requiring extensive medical attention and costly treatment. Because their refrigerator went out, their medications were destroyed. The health insurance company will not cover costs to replace the medications.

This single mother is hoping to get financial assistance for her rent and also some personal items for her daughter. This mother works full time and works hard to support herself and her daughter. She has to use ride-shares or family members to get her around because she does not know how to drive. This alone takes a lot of her income and leaves her at a deficit when she needs to pay other bills. She is currently behind on her rent and electricity, and is hoping that whatever assistance can be offered will help her pay and get ahead. Her daughter is currently sleeping on a blow-up mattress and she would love to give her a a bed of her own. She said that if her daughter could choose the bedding it would be yellow or blue since those are her favorite colors!
