Story
Due to her sister passing away, a single mother with two children took in her niece to prevent her from being placed in foster care. Aunt works as an IHSS provider and volunteers at a college to promote foster care awareness in the community. Caregiver had to reduce her work hours since her niece's birth date falls to late in the year and has not been able to start school as of yet. She was receiving some support from a family member, however, they are no longer able to help. The child is enrolled in speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and counseling to help cope with the loss of her mother. Aunt devotes most, if not all her time ensuring her niece is receiving the love, support, and care she needs at this time. As a result, aunt struggles to provide basic essentials for the children such as clothing and shoes, and is behind on rent and a utility bill. Aunt will be able to sustain her family once her niece officially begins school/daycare and aunt's work hours are restored. Thank you for you time and consideration.
