I have a single provider who has graciously opened her home to a kinship placement. This provider has 1 child of her own and has been struggling to make ends meet with the addition of another child in her home. For Anoka County to be able to license this home and preserve this kinship placement I have asked the provider to clean up the inside of the trailer home. She has expressed how she has so many plans for organizing and getting things tidy, but she does not have the funds to buy organizational items needed to make these dreams happen. At this time, I am requesting help with organization items that this family could benefit from to be able to eat together as a family so that everything isn't piled on top of the kitchen counters and kitchen table. She will use the Hutch to put her coffee pot, toaster etc on. Bins for cleaning supplies, food organization.

A 13 year old entered foster care over the weekend. Due to the circumstances she only had time to pack a backpack with limited items and she is without a stable placement yet due to being new in care. We are seeking a care package to help her feel more comfortable as she adjusts to the disruption she’s experiencing. Items being requested include: white crocs, a package of high white socks, sweatpants/baggy pants (likes Nike - size medium or 8/10 in teens), fitted athletic shirts size XS/S, undergarments and hygiene products (more information can be provided), vanilla fragranced body mist, and hair supplies for natural African American hair. Resource Linkage is working with a family who is needing help with groceries and clothes. The mother is a single mom of 2 kids and has been struggling in the past but is working her way up. The family was living in a hotel room but they now have their own apartment and the mom is working. The family also gets food stamps but could use some help getting more food this month. The children have also outgrown some of their clothes and could use some new clothes. The boy who is 13, wears 10/12 pants and large shirt. The girl who is 11 wears a size 10/12 pants and shirt. The mother could also benefit from some new clothes, she wears a size 16 in pants and X-Large in shirt. The mother is in agreement with meeting anyone at Wal-Mart to help her family out with these purchases. Any help for this family is greatly appreciated!

We want to take a moment to celebrate the growth of Sherry, Cameron, Kaya, and Kennedy over the past 8 months, made possible by your generous support. Cameron was juggling two part-time jobs and feeling uncertain about his future. He secured a full-time job at an extermination company and gained confidence and developed new skills. Kaya was a college freshman working at a sandwich shop. Since then, she started a new job at the YMCA in after-school childcare that has brought her joy in student teaching and she bought a car. Kennedy was a high school junior working at a sandwich shop; she has enjoyed school events like homecoming and winter formal. Staying in their home this last year allowed her to complete her childhood there and graduate high school. Sherry was facing financial stress, managing transportation for the kids with only one car. Over the last several months, she took a temporary job but as of recent she now offers in home care to another senior for a few days a week. Most importantly, thanks to you, she has had the time to guide and prepare her grandkids for their next big step in life.
