Good afternoon! I am requesting community assistance to support a pregnant older youth on my caseload and help get her Breast Pump for when they are born in Sep 2025. My youth in question is 19 and in care of the MO Children's Division. She is presently living in an transitional apartment program in Kansas City and working on how to live and work independently. My youth works part time but has very little to no family support and thus she has limited financial means to get some of the more expensive items needed to care for a newborn including this one. A Breast Pump is one of the more expensive and crucial items needed for a baby so therefore any help to get this item would be most appreciated. An expectant mother is in urgent need of an infant car seat for her soon-to-be-born baby boy. Despite looking for work, she has not yet found employment and is facing this pregnancy with very limited resources. She’s especially worried that she won’t be able to bring her baby home from the hospital safely without a car seat. Meeting this need would not only provide her with peace of mind, but it would ensure her baby has a safe and secure start to life. Your support would be a powerful reminder to this mother that she is not alone in this journey.

This mother is working so hard to get things back together for her family but could use some community support to fix her car so that she can get to and from work. She would really appreciate the support from her community at this time. She really is trying so hard to keep her family together and providing help with fixing her car would allow her to continue working and picking up her kids from daycare making her life so much easier being a mom 5 plus one on the way. This baby is currently in NICU at St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City, and will be there for about 3 months. Placement is needing a few gas cards to get back and fourth to the Hospital to stay with the baby and bond with him. Thank You

This family is just coming from homelessness because of a housefire but just got moved into their new home! I'm so excited for them as its a big step for this family. The mother who is disabled has been working so hard at getting everything together for there new home and could use a little love and support from her community in getting a two bed sets for her and her child. Thank you so much!

A father with a 1 year old child in care needs to attend the next court hearing tomorrow. However, he does not have any transportation or insurance that would cover the expense of attending the court hearing. The goal for this young child is reunification and the father needs to attend the court hearing to continue the process of reunification.

A 19-year-old mother and her 1-year-old son recently moved into stable housing after experiencing homelessness. Right now, they are sharing a small air mattress on the floor. The mother has tried to find beds on her own but hasn’t had any success so she contacted me for help. She is actively searching for a job and applying to school, determined to build a better future, but currently has no income. This family is in need of a toddler bed (with a mattress protector) for the child to grow into and a bed for the mother. Meeting this need will provide them with a safe, comfortable place to rest and help support the mother’s efforts to create a stable life for her son.

Family needs a couple items picked up from Sleepyhead beds. This would include a mattress.

Family needs financial support due to unexpected life changes. One of the parents has recently become unavailable, and family has lost a source of income. Patient has medical complexities and has multiple monthly medical appointments that further add to the financial strain on the family. Patient will eventually need surgery and helping the family with financial needs will allow for parent to maintain patient's care without worrying about current financial concern.

I am looking for help to reunify a family with their child. The father just recently started working full time overnights while the mother tends to their four children during the day. The parents are just getting back on their feet but struggling financially to be able to cover first and last months' rent. They are requiring some assistance to just get them into their apartment so we can start a trial home visit. The family has been homeless for a while and couch-surfing with relatives and that in itself has taken a toll on them. The mother is unable to work due to needing to supervise her young children plus the one child in care has very intense medical needs that require round-the-clock care. The father is trying to also during the day work with a friend of his, cutting grass and doing some landscape jobs on top of his full-time work to help bring in extra cash as fast as they can. I am hoping to help this family out with just the first month to get them started and give them that motivation to keep going. They will be able to afford the rent on a monthly basis but like I said we are just needing assistance the first month for them so we can get their child back to them in their home. The parents will be able to provide proof of a signed lease agreement as well.

The purpose of this request is so the child can be reunified with Mother and Father. They do not have proper sleeping arrangements for the child to return home. They are a young family who recently moved out from their parental home into an apartment. They have a crib but need a mattress, bedding, and mattress protector. Thank you!

A single Mom with a 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter has had to go back and forth from a town in MO (45 minutes away) to Kansas City in order to be at the hospital with her 1 year old daughter who is admitted. The 1 year old daughter is going through a difficult time medically and currently has a device helping her current heart function. The daughter will be admitted until she receives a heart transplant and Mom and brother are making efforts to move to Kansas City from 45 minutes away in order to be near the daughter and support her at this time. With that said, Mom is having trouble making her car payment. Mom herself actually was admitted to the hospital and it caused her to miss work which has resulted in falling behind on her car payment. If a church is able to assist this Mom with a car payment she would be forever grateful! She is also accepting of prayers for her daughter to receive a heart transplant and tolerate the change well.
