Single mom who moved her from Africa to better her life. Mom was recently accepted into a CNA program, so that she can start working here and better her life for her and her son. mom has acquired a daycare willing to accept her son. Due to DCF not paying for parents just in school mom is needing help paying for her sons daycare for the five weeks she is in school and then taking the state exam. Mom is requesting $140 a week for five weeks so her son has reliable childcare. Mom's school starts on May 5/6 and ends 6/3.

After losing housing due to the landlord selling the property, a single mother of 5 has been able to locate housing for her and her 5 children. Mom is in need of gently used furniture, such as a sofa, dresser, end table, a kitchen table and chairs. This furniture would provide the family with some comfort and a safe environment to grow in. This request is going out to anyone that may be able to help in a small way. Any support would be greatly appreciated!

We have a teen, female youth who cam into care due to struggling with her mental health and developmental issues that caused her to have behaviors that made the living environment unsafe for others in the home. Her developmental delays hinder her in a way that she will require assistance for daily living upon transitioning out of foster care. It has been arranged for her to move into adult IDD (Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled) housing. She is excited to move into a home with others who share her experiences. She is also excited about graduating high school in may and has begun looking for employment opportunities. To be able to successfully transition into her adult IDD housing, she is in need of some household supplies. We have been able to get her some essentials but she is still in need of a nightstand, dresser, lamp, and television. Any assistance in getting these remaining items for her would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

We are currently supporting a student who has been displaced due to significant family issues within her home. The student is temporarily residing with a sibling approx an hour away from school. The sibling is committed to keeping her enrolled at our school through the end of the academic year to maintain consistency and stability during this difficult time. The sibling does not have legal guardianship, which is delaying the process of enrolling in a closer school to their temporary residence. The Dept of children and families is currently working with the student and family. We are seeking assistance in the form of Walmart gift card for basic necessities or gas cards to help ease the financial burden of the daily commute, Any support provided would go directly toward maintaining the students educational stability and overall well being. Maternal Aunt of two children is currently in the process of getting her home ready to take the sibling set. In order to make her home in compliance per state mandates. The family is needing a toddler bed for her sleeping arrangement that aunt does not have at this time. She is kinship and youths are wanting to be with family if possible. Urgency of needing to get siblings with kinship as soon as possible and making sure Aunt is well prepared to care for the children in her home, which she is working hard to make sure she is in compliance to get situated. The family would benefit from a toddler bed. Any consideration is appreciated. Thank you.

A group home for girls in foster care is in need of some cleaning and kitchen supplies. The girls get to cook once a week to help them better their life skills. They also have daily and weekly chores. Teaching life skills is a big part of what this group home does, so the girls are ready to be on their own when they are adults. They also often make baked goods to share. Like any kitchen, what they have has gotten old and broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We received pots and pans yesterday and have a church that is wanting to help with some of the other items.

Family is needing assistance with their electric bill. Mother is disabled and isn't working, she's been looking for employment but needs it at least within walking distance as they have no transportation. She's responsible for 2 small children ages 2 and 4 both of whom attend Child Start. Mother is behind on her bill and is needing $900 to cover the rest. Mother would be at risk of losing her section 8 housing if she isn't able to get her electricity back on. Fulfilling this request would ensure that the family keeps their warm and stable home.

Family is in jeopardy of losing section 8 housing if they cannot get her utility bill paid.

There are two children in the home, (Female 10) and (Male 15). Family is needing help with fixing or replacing their water heater. It is a 40 gal with an estimate cost of $400.

The family has completed 8 weeks of intense case management and made progress to keep the home clean. The family is needing a series of pest control services to provide a healthy environment and take over after the series is complete.

A grandmother who has of her 4-year-old grandchild living with her needs to have a washer and dryer in the home to ensure the child has access to clean clothing and bedding at all times, which is essential for their health, hygiene, and overall well-being. Having an in-home washer and dryer provides the grandmother with the convenience and ability to respond quickly to these needs. It also helps maintain a stable, clean, and nurturing environment, which is critical for the child’s development and emotional security. Grandmother cannot afford to buy washer and dryer due to limited income.

Seeking gentry used kitchen appliances for formerly homeless families: We have a free store for newly housed families to select items they need to get re-settled into a new home after homelessness. Families need new or gently used: blender, toaster, can opener, air fryers, crockpots, mixer, and electric skillet or griddle. Our store has items for the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom.
